About the position

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as an Integration Engineer, Journeyman to work out of Ft. Eustis, VA. The primary focus of this role will be on testing and troubleshooting complex systems. You will provide expertise in network and software systems during the execution of flight tests of experimental manned-unmanned teaming technologies in support of Science and Technology (S&T) programs for the Future Vertical Lift ecosystem. Additionally, you will develop platform architecture and network requirements to integrate multiple target technologies for evaluation in experimental scenarios in multi-aircraft simulation and flight tests. You will analyze system design and assist with the integration of disparate technologies into a cohesive solution, recommend and provide execution of creative solutions to overcome integration challenges prior to and during flight test activities, and develop technical documentation and procedures as required to support test planning and execution. Clear communication, both orally and in writing, is essential to describe proposed solutions to software development, system integration, and test execution personnel. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Providing expertise in network and software systems during flight tests of experimental technologies.
  • Developing platform architecture and network requirements for technology integration.
  • Analyzing system design and assisting with integration of disparate technologies.
  • Recommending and executing creative solutions to integration challenges.
  • Developing technical documentation and procedures for test planning and execution.
  • Communicating proposed solutions clearly to relevant personnel.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with unmanned aircraft systems, including mission systems, datalinks, and communications packages.
  • Proficiency in coding and scripting languages, including Python, C++, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with mesh and MANET radio datalinks.
  • Familiarity with UAS command-and-control messaging standards, including MAVLink and STANAG 4586.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of diverse skillsets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
