About the position

The University of Washington is seeking a Workday Integration Engineer to support its Workday Financials system. This role involves designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining integrations between Workday and various internal and external information systems, ensuring alignment with the University's financial management objectives. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate financial requirements into functional integrations, while also troubleshooting and documenting integration issues to maintain a stable Workday environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, support, and maintain integrations between Workday and internal/external systems.
• Translate financial requirements into Workday integrations.
• Develop solutions using a standard, quality-driven approach.
• Identify and communicate gaps or trade-offs in designs to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in recommending effective integration design architecture.
• Support, troubleshoot, and document integration issues as they arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Four years of technical experience on increasingly complex projects.
• Experience integrating systems with third-party service vendors.
• Working experience with Workday Integration Cloud Platform, APIs, EIBs, Workday Studio, and Business Objects.
• Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills and technical documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with MS SQL Server query design and optimization.
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services.
• Experience in problem solving and issue resolution in business and technical contexts.
• Experience with Jira, SharePoint, or other enterprise tools.
• Experience in a large university or medical center.
• Familiarity with network protocols and data encryption.
• Experience gathering requirements from functional experts.
• Experience designing within a complex data integration environment.
