About the position

We are seeking an Integration Engineer to design and develop software solutions for our client base. This role involves the design, testing, documentation, and coordination of software functionality, ensuring usability, performance, and compliance with standards. The Integration Engineer will be responsible for creating a fully integrated and continuously evolving Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution, which requires a solid background in healthcare and extensive experience with integration technologies. The position allows for remote work options, with some duties that may be performed remotely, and options for a hybrid (telework/onsite) work schedule are available. The Integration Engineer will conduct evaluations at customer sites to determine effective implementation strategies and will offer training and mentorship to integrators across the organization, fostering skill development and best practices. This role also includes hands-on integration development tasks, proposal evaluation and negotiation, and leading customer implementation projects. In addition to these responsibilities, the Integration Engineer will be expected to plan and coordinate large-scale integration projects, ensuring timely and successful execution. Effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders, including the Director of vxVistA Development and the Project Management Office, will be crucial. The role also involves enhancing transparency with both internal and external clients and assisting in documenting and sharing information pertinent to software development processes. Overall, this position is vital for ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance, ultimately improving healthcare delivery for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive designs and requirements to create a fully integrated and continuously evolving EHR solution.
  • Conduct evaluations at customer sites and determine effective implementation strategies.
  • Offer training and mentorship to integrators across the organization, fostering skill development and best practices.
  • Perform light-duty hands-on integration development tasks as needed.
  • Assess proposals, negotiate integration efforts, and manage delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all project requirements are clearly defined and understood before project initiation.
  • Lead customer implementation projects and manage migration efforts effectively.
  • Conduct evaluations of integrators and provide feedback to support their professional growth.
  • Plan and coordinate large-scale integration projects, ensuring timely and successful execution.
  • Facilitate effective coordination and communication among various stakeholders.
  • Enhance transparency with both internal and external clients to ensure clear and open communication.
  • Disseminate relevant information appropriately and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Assist in documenting and sharing information pertinent to software development processes.
  • Contribute to the creation of key deliverables, including system design documentation and essential release management documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine.
  • 15 years of experience in Integration.
  • 5 years of experience with SQL Server.
  • 5 years of experience in API Development.
  • 10 years of experience in Integration Development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecting and implementing FHIR services.
  • 5 years of experience in VistA HL7 development (preferred).
  • Extensive experience with integration engines such as Pilotfish, Ensemble, and Cloverleaf.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of excellent customer relations.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field, with a preference for a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree.
  • Certification as a developer or equivalent industry experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a similar role.
