About the position

As an Integration Engineer at LANES, you will be part of a dedicated team of healthcare IT experts focused on addressing real-world healthcare challenges. Your role will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining seamless integrations between various healthcare systems and data sources. Utilizing Mirth Connect and other Health Information Exchange (HIE) technologies, you will facilitate the secure and efficient exchange of patient data across different healthcare entities. This position requires a deep understanding of HIE technologies and adherence to industry standards and best practices, ensuring that personal health information is available when and where it is needed for patient care. In this virtual home-based position, you will be expected to attend in-person meetings in the Los Angeles area as needed. Your technical expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting complex integration issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity. You will design data integration solutions that align with HIE goals, develop and customize integration solutions, and ensure compliance with interoperability standards such as HL7, IHE, and FHIR. Additionally, you will conduct thorough testing and validation of integration workflows, create comprehensive documentation, and provide training and support to end-users and technical teams. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and healthcare professionals, to align integration efforts with LANES objectives. You will also be responsible for staying updated with emerging trends in HIE technologies and identifying opportunities for process optimization and integration enhancements. Your participation in integration projects will involve adhering to timelines, communicating risks and issues, and effectively reporting progress to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of Mirth Connect and HIE technologies to troubleshoot complex integration issues, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity.
  • Design data integration solutions that align with HIE goals and requirements.
  • Develop, configure, and customize integration solutions using Mirth Connect and other relevant technologies.
  • Respond to service level degradation, outages, and other incidents; triage, troubleshoot, and identify root causes of incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and protocols such as HL7, IHE, and FHIR while implementing integration solutions.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of integration workflows to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create comprehensive documentation of integration solutions, workflows, and configurations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users, technical teams, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align integration efforts with LANES objectives.
  • Comply with healthcare cybersecurity and privacy laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in HIE technologies, Mirth Connect, and related technologies.
  • Participate in integration projects; adhere to timelines; identify and communicate risks and issues; and effectively communicate progress to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Mirth Connect and Health Information Exchange (HIE) technologies.
  • Strong understanding of interoperability standards such as HL7, IHE, and FHIR.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues and optimize performance.
  • Familiarity with data mapping, transformation, and routing processes.
  • Experience in testing and validating integration workflows for reliability and compliance.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to create comprehensive integration solution documentation.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
