About the position

The University of Washington is seeking a Workday Integration Engineer to support its Workday Financials system. This role involves designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining integrations between Workday and various internal and external information systems. The engineer will contribute to ongoing implementations and support production integrations, translating financial requirements into effective Workday integrations while ensuring quality and business objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, support, and maintain integrations between Workday and internal/external systems.
  • Translate financial requirements into Workday integrations.
  • Develop solutions using a standard, quality-driven approach.
  • Identify and communicate gaps or trade-offs in designs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in recommending effective integration design architecture.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and document integration issues to maintain a stable Workday system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of technical experience on increasingly complex projects.
  • Experience integrating systems with third-party service vendors.
  • Working experience with Workday Integration Cloud Platform, APIs, EIBs, Workday Studio, and Business Objects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MS SQL Server query design and optimization.
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services.
  • Experience in problem solving and issue resolution in business and technical contexts.
  • Experience with Jira, SharePoint, or other enterprise tools.
  • Experience in a large university or medical center.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and data encryption.
