About the position

As an Integration & Test Engineer at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, you will play a critical role in the Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) team. This position involves integrating, verifying, and validating complex systems to ensure they function correctly and meet performance standards. You will be responsible for developing plans and procedures for testing software and hardware subsystems, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers. Your work will directly impact the reliability and effectiveness of our products, ensuring they work seamlessly in both lab and field environments. In this role, you will utilize your extensive knowledge of systems engineering principles to establish methods and techniques for integration. You will write integration procedures and reports, conduct tests, and analyze performance metrics. Your responsibilities will also include identifying technical issues during integration, collaborating with fellow engineers to determine root causes, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be working in a classified lab environment, and you will need to present technical briefs to various audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems integration, particularly within the context of satellite ground systems. You will be expected to work in an Agile program environment, adapting to the fast-paced nature of the industry while maintaining a focus on quality and precision. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that our systems not only meet but exceed customer expectations, functioning correctly from the first deployment onward.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integration plans and sequences
  • Identify technical issues during integration
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to determine root cause and drive toward closure
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis, which includes preparing and presenting technical briefs
  • Work in an Agile program environment
  • Work in a classified lab on site in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 5 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in STEM
  • Experience working on Global Positioning System (GPS)
  • Hands-on integration experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems
  • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment
  • Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with Raytheon EclipseTM or Raytheon EquinoxTM
  • Experience with Java, C++, or Python
  • Experience with Linux operating system
