About the position

Actalent is seeking a full-time Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join our team in support of a leading Department of Defense (DoD) organization located in Syracuse, NY. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful integration and testing of complex systems within the Aerospace and Defense industry. The engineer will be responsible for performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, as well as conducting cost and risk analyses. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the total systems lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal of systems. The Systems Integration & Test Engineer will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions, taking into account technical, schedule, and cost constraints. This involves performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. The engineer will also be hands-on with lab systems and tactical radar systems, integrating software and hardware, validating and verifying software changes, and performing system updates. Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses for total systems.
  • Conduct analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Ensure the conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Integrate software and hardware, validate and verify software changes, and perform system updates.
  • Work hands-on with lab systems and tactical radar systems.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of hands-on Systems Integration and Test experience on modern digital radars or experience integrating some sort of sensor.
  • Understanding of integration planning for large systems.
  • Testing experience with Electrical/RF/SW.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
