About the position

Volt is immediately hiring an Integration/Test Engineer in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting electromagnetic testing of our next generation of radio products, ancillaries, and custom systems. This position involves performing radio/test equipment set-up, testing, and report generation of EMI/EMC tests to various military and commercial standards including MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, and DO-106G. You will also assist in maintaining tools, software, and equipment for EMI testing in anechoic chambers, ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition for testing purposes. Additionally, you will aid in pre-qualification testing during each product development phase, working closely with engineers to ensure that products meet the necessary specifications and standards. Your role will also include assisting engineers with product improvement initiatives and performing formal qualification testing to meet customer requirements. This position is crucial in ensuring that our products are compliant with industry standards and are of the highest quality before they reach the market.

Responsibilities

  • Support electromagnetic testing of next generation radio products and custom systems.
  • Perform radio/test equipment set-up, testing, and report generation of EMI/EMC tests to MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, DO-106G, and related commercial standards.
  • Assist in maintaining tools, software, and equipment for EMI testing in anechoic chambers.
  • Aid in pre-qualification testing during each product development phase.
  • Assist engineers with product improvement and perform formal qualification testing to customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in electromagnetic testing and familiarity with EMI/EMC standards.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating radio/test equipment.
  • Ability to generate detailed reports based on testing results.
  • Experience working in an anechoic chamber environment is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, and DO-106G standards.
  • Experience in product development and qualification testing.
  • Knowledge of radio communication systems.
