About the position

The Integrity Solutions Engineer role is part of the Content Regulations organization within Cross Integrity at Meta. This cross-functional team is dedicated to enhancing Meta's compliance with content regulations, which encompasses the detection of illegal content, auditing and risk assessments of content moderation systems, user notifications regarding content removal, and managing user appeals. The newly established Integrity Solutions Engineering team will focus on developing regulatory compliance solutions that serve as the technical bridge between the content regulation policy and legal teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to witness the social impact of the solutions you design and build, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements. You will engage with various technology stacks and collaborate with stakeholders from engineering, product, legal, and policy teams, making this role pivotal in shaping Meta's approach to content integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand Meta's integrity products and their application to content regulations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in policy, legal, engineering, and product to map regulators' needs to product solutions.
  • Partner with legal, policy, and product teams to define product and integrity solutions for compliance requirements.
  • Build 'first-mile' and 'last-mile' product solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop internal tooling to enhance the effectiveness of legal, policy, operations, and technical teams in content regulation.
  • Represent Meta and its compliance products in discussions with regulators.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience as a software engineer building and shipping products or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience working with legal and policy teams while developing software solutions.
  • B.A/B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
  • Experience with REST APIs and developer platforms.
  • Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, Kotlin, or C#.
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience architecting and building regulatory solutions.
  • Experience working in a governmentally involved regulatory environment (e.g., subject to DSA / GDPR / CCPA).
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
