About the position

The MITRE Intel Center Special Programs Security Manager is responsible for overseeing security operations management, including the development, implementation, and oversight of security policies and procedures for Intelligence Community (IC) work programs. This role involves providing security leadership to a team of Contractor Program Security Officers and Contractor Special Security Officers, ensuring compliance with government security policies, and acting as a liaison between various stakeholders to maintain security requirements. The position plays a key role in strategic planning and risk management for security operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of Closed Areas and SCIFs according to CFR and ICDs.
  • Apply security knowledge across various disciplines to ensure compliance with security requirements.
  • Lead the construction security process for Special Program Facilities, including pre-construction and accreditation requirements.
  • Implement visitor control, safeguarding secure spaces, and personnel security measures.
  • Develop and write assessments, corrective action plans, policies, and reports.
  • Coordinate and execute Program Security documentation such as SOPs and Emergency Action Plans.
  • Conduct employee briefings and manage security training for program staff.
  • Perform inspections and briefings to enhance security awareness and compliance.
  • Identify long and short-range security goals and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct assessments and investigations regarding potential compromises of program information.
  • Establish procedures for protecting and controlling classified documentation.
  • Manage security staff to ensure adherence to security policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic security consultations to business area executives for classified programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Top Secret/SCI/Polygraph clearance level required.
  • 5+ years of relevant security experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in leadership/team management.
  • Ability to work on-site a minimum of 4 days a week.
