About the position

The Intelligence Analyst I at the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) is responsible for analyzing information and data to produce impactful reports and actionable intelligence products for NICB members and partners. This role focuses on identifying fraud trends, particularly in medical billing, and developing intelligence products that support NICB's mission to combat insurance fraud and crime. The position requires a blend of analytical skills, technology aptitude, and the ability to communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to create accurate, actionable intelligence reports.
  • Identify fraud trends and develop high-quality analytical visuals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with member companies and law enforcement agencies.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in areas such as vehicle, medical, and commercial fraud.
  • Memorialize information, intelligence, and work products in NICB's intelligence management system.
  • Develop and present fraud topics and training materials.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and NICB Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar.
  • 3 or more years of experience conducting independent analysis required.
  • Prior experience working with large amounts of data in Excel, SQL/PostgreSQL required.
  • Experience with cloud databases (AWS or Redshift) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Above average critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and solid judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with insurance claim data and analysis preferred.
  • CPT Code and dashboard development experience preferred.
