About the position

The Intelligence Operations Specialist (Counterintelligence) at the Department of the Treasury's Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA) is responsible for conducting counterintelligence assessments and inquiries. This role involves evaluating intelligence information to assess the operational capabilities of foreign intelligence entities and providing counterintelligence advice to Treasury officials. The position requires conducting briefings, debriefings, and collection activities to support counterintelligence operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counterintelligence (CI) advice and assistance to Treasury officials and supported activities.
  • Present personal CI briefings of various lengths and mediums to select audiences.
  • Conduct briefings and debriefings of Treasury personnel who travel to foreign countries and/or interact with foreign nationals.
  • Conduct CI collection activities via debriefings, liaison, open source and classified source research.
  • Prepare finished Intelligence Information Reports.
  • Serve as a CI investigator for reports of CI anomalies or allegations of espionage.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Experience conducting counterintelligence activities, including briefings, debriefings, inquiries, assessments, and/or counterintelligence operations with minimal supervision.
  • Experience applying counterintelligence directives, policies, and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in planning, directing, and conducting counterintelligence activities to detect, deter, or prevent foreign intelligence entity attempts targeting personnel, information, processes, technology, or facilities.
  • Experience evaluating and recommending changes in methodology for the conduct of counterintelligence activities.
