About the position

The Intelligence Operations Specialist serves as a Departmental Requirements Officer (DRO) within the Collection Management Division (CMD) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role is crucial for validating and approving geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) collection requirements, ensuring compliance with Intelligence Community (IC) procedures, and advocating for DHS GEOINT needs. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance geospatial support for DHS missions and requires a strong understanding of collection management processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate GEOINT requirements and strategies in support of I&A Mission Centers and Divisions.
• Conduct final DHS-level validation and approval of DHS GEOINT collection requirements/information needs.
• Work closely with NGA personnel to ensure final tasking of DHS GEOINT collection requirements for imagery collection.
• Participate in departmental and GEOINT and Collection Management IC presentations and briefings.
• Engage with National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) partners to identify technology and processes to improve geospatial support.

Requirements

• Must be able to hold a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service or comparable experience in the private sector or SLTT government organizations.
• Technical knowledge in collection management, focusing on GEOINT collection management systems and processes.
• Ability to prepare and edit executive-level documents for accuracy and compliance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in managing collaborative efforts and achieving consensus among stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security component missions and functions.
