About the position

The Intelligence Operations Specialist position at the Department of Defense involves serving as a Counterintelligence (CI) Analyst. The role focuses on identifying and assessing threats to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the trusted workforce, and the cleared industry. The incumbent will provide analytical products through all-source intelligence analysis of Foreign Intelligence entities (FIE) that pose threats to U.S. national security, integrating intelligence data to generate expert analysis and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytic expertise to identify, assess, and disrupt threats to cleared industry and personnel.
  • Serve as a technical consultant in all-source counterintelligence analysis, focusing on foreign intelligence entities and threats to critical technology.
  • Review and interpret threat data from various information sources to assess foreign intelligence threats to U.S. critical technologies.
  • Provide CI insights related to U.S. Government agencies and DCSA to thwart attempts by foreign intelligence entities to obtain protected U.S. information and technology.
  • Alert DCSA intelligence customers to indications that a critical technology or individual has been targeted for intelligence activities.
  • Identify intelligence gaps and collaborate with DCSA CI Operations Division and the Intelligence Community to drive collection and information gathering.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Specialized experience equivalent to the GS/GG-12 level in the Federal service, including one year of experience in counterintelligence analysis.
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills, including effective presentations and active listening.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and organized written information.
  • Knowledge of processing and exploitation capabilities related to intelligence collection.
  • Ability to research and gather information effectively.
  • Knowledge of Counterintelligence Functional Services categories.
