About the position

This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) and is located at Joint Activities, Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Employees in DCIPS positions are part of the Excepted Service and must comply with U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. The role of the Intelligence Specialist (Operations) involves coordinating with various military services, law enforcement, and intelligence organizations to develop Human Intelligence (HUMINT) support necessary for training, exercises, and contingency requirements. This position requires maintaining specific databases for dossiers in collaborative interagency projects and activities, as well as establishing and maintaining direct liaison contact and staff coordination with the Intelligence Community. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing highly specialized, mission-critical HUMINT requirements, interfacing with multiple intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and assisting in the development of intelligence contacts and leads in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and National HUMINT collection requirements. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of intelligence processes, cycles, and organizations, as well as the ability to utilize various research tools for intelligence analysis and production. The position may also require extensive temporary duty (TDY) travel, including to austere locations designated as imminent danger areas, and may involve irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with military services, law enforcement, and intelligence organizations for HUMINT support during training and exercises.
