About the position

The Interactive Web Designer at Davidson-Davie Community College is responsible for managing the college's web presence and ensuring optimal performance across various online platforms. This role involves collaborating with different departments to update websites, maintain compliance with accessibility standards, and support the college's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Work with all departments on campus to perform needed day to day website updates to various Davidson-Davie websites.
  • Maintain organization within the Marketing Department's website update request ticketing system.
  • Work with outside website hosting vendor to ensure website performance is optimal for all users.
  • Collaborate with internal and external designers to implement needed visual changes to the website pages.
  • Ensure websites are accessible for ADA & WCAG Compliance.
  • Correct broken links, misspellings and other errors outlined in weekly reports.
  • Help maintain other various digital presences of the College.
  • Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • In depth experience with WordPress content management system
  • Experience in implementing best practices in WCAG accessibility standards

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manipulating images using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Apple computers
  • Experience in working with basic HTML coding
  • Experience in working with photography equipment and social media in a business setting
  • Ability to lead and manage change through collaborative leadership
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to develop and apply flexibility, resourcefulness, and creative approaches to unique problems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people
  • Presentation Skills
