About the position

The Interdisciplinary Civil Engineer/Mechanical Engineer/Electrical Engineer position at the Bonneville Power Administration involves serving as an Engineering Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities for assigned engineering projects within the Project Management Transmission Lines Team. The role requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution, maintaining communication on project progress, and overseeing project implementation regarding scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, coordinate, and work with other organizations across BPA, including Design, Construction, Planning, and Customer Service groups.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic project outcomes.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders and customers, including municipalities, state and federal agencies, and the public.
  • Oversee daily project implementation regarding scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Pursue authorization for changes to project scope, cost, schedule, or performance when necessary.
  • Maintain consistent communication with project sponsors, resource managers, and stakeholders on project progress.
  • Issue regular status reports.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Professional registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level in the Federal service, applying advanced engineering principles and project management techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing electrical utility projects.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge Principles.
