As an Interdisciplinary Community Planner/Civil Engineer/Architect with the Department of Defense, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining project criteria, schedules, and budgets that align with project and customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include composing technical reports for management that provide updates on the status of master plans, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and that projects are progressing as planned. You will also consult with clients regarding facility planning product line deliverables, helping to meet command missions, goals, and objectives effectively. In this position, you will evaluate architecture and engineering construction projects, recommending and implementing initiatives for improvements. This will require a strong understanding of planning criteria, master planning, facility planning, economic analyses, explosive safety siting, and space management. You will be expected to execute Project Planning Documents, such as Military Construction (MILCON) and Special Project planning documentation, and provide technical references, guidance, training, and mentorship to colleagues and Public Works Department (PWD) staff. Your expertise will be essential in completing Asset Evaluations, Basic Facility Requirements, and Facility Planning Documents using various computer application software. This role is interdisciplinary, meaning it may be filled by candidates from various backgrounds, including community planning, landscape architecture, architecture, and civil engineering. You will be required to work both in an office setting and on-site, conducting field visits and facility inspections, which may involve moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions. The position is full-time, typically requiring a 40-hour work week, and may involve travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, including remote or isolated sites.
