About the position

The Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Operations Research Analyst position at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is a critical role that involves supporting the development of data requirements, collection, analysis, and archival processes. This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) and is being filled under the DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting the results of tests, assessments, and experimentation programs that support interoperability, systems, and technical measurement requirements. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to develop initiatives aimed at improving the integration and execution of tests, along with providing recommendations to senior management. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the position involves reviewing the planning, management, analysis, integration, and execution of test and evaluation policies and strategies. The candidate will also be tasked with developing techniques to monitor integrated test programs, plans, and schedules for adequacy. Furthermore, the role includes supporting the development and execution of contracts, Program Objective Memorandum (POM) inputs, and budgets, which are essential for the successful operation of the agency's projects. This position is full-time and offers a flexible work schedule, with occasional overtime. The selected candidate will be required to maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive (Secret) security clearance and obtain a Practitioner level certification in Test and Evaluation within a specified timeframe. The role is designed for individuals who possess a strong background in engineering or operations research, with a focus on complex weapon systems and their testing and evaluation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of data requirements, collection, analysis, and archival.
  • Plans, executes, and reports the results of tests, assessments, and experimentation programs in support of interoperability, systems, and technical measurement requirements.
  • Develops initiatives to improve the integration and execution of tests and provides recommendations to senior management.
  • Reviews the planning, management, analysis, integration, and execution of test and evaluation policies and strategies.
  • Develops techniques to monitor integrated test programs, plans, and schedules for adequacy.
  • Supports the development and execution of contracts, POM inputs, and/or budgets.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Male born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • This is a Drug Testing designated position.
  • Employee must obtain/maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive (Secret) security clearance.
  • Employee is required to obtain a Practitioner level certification in Test and Evaluation.
