The Interim Assistant Principal/Administrator at Ponaganset Middle School is responsible for leading and supporting a collaborative educational environment that fosters student success. This role involves assisting the principal in managing school operations, implementing innovative teaching practices, and ensuring a personalized learning experience for students. The position emphasizes the use of technology in education and aims to prepare students for college and careers in a global economy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the principal in leading and managing school functions and operations.
  • Support the implementation of personalized, rigorous, and collaborative learning experiences.
  • Lead and support a cohesive Professional Learning Community focused on college and career preparation.
  • Manage the implementation of research-based practices aligned with the National Institute for School Leadership's guidelines.
  • Oversee the implementation of middle-level practices recommended by the Association for Middle Level Education.
  • Support the development of high-interest college and career pathways for students.
  • Manage changes to curriculum, instruction, assessments, and school structures to meet national standards.
  • Lead the creation of performance tasks and assessments aligned to the Common Core and transferrable skills.
  • Support the refinement and implementation of a Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS).
  • Evaluate educators and support staff to improve learning and teaching.

Requirements

  • Experience in educational leadership and administration.
  • Strong understanding of middle-level education practices.
  • Ability to implement technology in a blended learning environment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies.
  • Experience in data analysis to improve instructional practices.

  • Experience with 1:1 technology initiatives in schools.
