About the position

The Interim CFO position at Alvarez & Marsal involves providing financial leadership and advisory services to private equity clients across the U.S. The role focuses on enhancing operational performance and managing financial strategies for portfolio companies, particularly in the Manufacturing, Industrial, and Consumer Packaged Goods sectors. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive experience in financial management and consulting to guide organizations through complex business challenges and maximize value creation.

Responsibilities

• Support private equity clientele on a national basis as an interim CFO.
• Lead organizations through time-sensitive projects such as restructuring, carve-outs, or acquisitions.
• Improve finance organization performance by upgrading staff skills, redesigning processes, or implementing new systems.
• Build budgets, EBITDA forecasts, and cash forecasts to support executive management decision-making.
• Develop management reporting dashboards and provide strategic recommendations.
• Manage international treasury and currency hedging as needed.

Requirements

• Established track record as a CFO for PE-owned businesses with revenues in the $100 million to $1 billion range.
• Deep experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Consumer Packaged Goods businesses.
• Prior experience working with private equity backed companies.
• Experience in leading organizations through time-sensitive projects.
• Proven experience in improving finance organization performance.
• Strong written, oral, and analytical skills.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field with ten years of related financial management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior top-tier consulting experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with management reporting dashboards is a plus.
• International treasury and currency hedging experience is a plus.
• Existing private equity relationships (personal or professional) are a plus.
