About the position

The Interim Divisional CFO role at Warbird Healthcare Advisors is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial management of a large employed physician group in the Midwest. This role serves as an advisor to the senior leadership team, ensuring the integrity of the Division's fiscal operations and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The Interim CFO will focus on long-term growth strategies, operational efficiencies, and financial performance, while also managing the Revenue Cycle operations to optimize cash collections and minimize uncompensated care.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the Division's long-term growth strategy and implement operational efficiencies.
  • Analyze operating results and recommend initiatives to improve efficiency, profitability, and cash generation.
  • Oversee the development of financial plans, budgets, and business plans to maximize financial performance.
  • Support business development and market enhancement activities for the Division and System.
  • Act as a change agent to reduce expenses and operational variation through analytical decision-making.
  • Direct the operations of the Revenue Cycle to ensure timely collections and minimize uncompensated care.
  • Review revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address performance issues.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare corporate required reports accurately and timely, including Monthly Operating Reports and Forecasts.
  • Maintain knowledge of reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments and revenue deductions.
  • Facilitate preparation of required cost reports and participate in the annual strategic planning process.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business-related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of successful CFO experience in an employed physician group setting with at least 1000 physicians.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proven financial analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
