About the position
The Interim Controller will oversee the day-to-day general ledger accounting functions through month-end close for a Las Vegas-based hospitality and gaming company. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial operations and compliance with relevant regulations, particularly in the gaming industry.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Manage the casino's cash flow, including monitoring daily cash balances, preparing cash flow reports, and managing the casino's bank accounts and cash reserves.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) regulations and federal gaming laws to ensure adherence to all legal and financial obligations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role within the Hospitality/Gaming industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Familiarity with Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations and a strong understanding of the gaming industry's financial intricacies required.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills needed.
