The Interim Director of Nursing is a contract position responsible for overseeing nursing operations at a skilled nursing facility. The role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of five years of experience in a Director of Nursing role, particularly in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting. The position involves leading and mentoring nursing teams, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and improving quality measures within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing operations and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff to improve quality of care.
- Manage survey processes and implement improvements based on findings.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.
- Ensure proper staffing and resource allocation within the nursing department.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility (SNF).
- Wisconsin RN License or Compact RN License is required.
- Experience as a Regional Director of Clinical Services, Regional Nurse Consultant, or Regional DON is preferred.
- Proven track record of success with surveys and improving quality measures.

- Experience in geriatrics is preferred.
