About the position

The Interim Financial Reporting Analyst II at Boston Children's Hospital is responsible for providing detailed analysis of general ledger accounts and preparing reconciliations. This role involves monitoring account transaction activity to ensure accurate recording of revenues and expenses, and it is a two-year fixed-term position with a defined start and end date.

Responsibilities

• Preparing a variety of recurring financial transactions, reports, and analyses related to the hospital operating financial statement and balance sheet.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries for assigned accounts and funds, ensuring all activity is recorded accurately.
• Preparing detailed analyses of various general ledger accounts and selected cost centers, including grants and special funds.
• Preparing various financial and statistical reports for monthly closes, quarterly reviews, and year-end audit reporting.
• Understanding and utilizing various systems to respond to internal and external ad-hoc requests.
• Preparing periodic reports and documents for regulatory agencies and other external organizations as required.
• Working with department managers in formulating action plans and monitoring progress.
• Participating in identifying opportunities for process improvements and application of best practices.
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining supporting documentation and schedules for monthly close, quarterly reviews, and year-end audit.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration or closely related field is required.
• 3 plus years of experience in financial reporting and analysis is required.
• Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel, and advanced database skills.

Nice-to-haves

• GAAP Certification is a plus.
• Skilled at evaluating analytics and understanding content within the data.
