About the position

The Interim Grants Management Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing grant management operations within the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. This part-time role involves implementing operational procedures, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The manager acts as a liaison between the organization and external funders, providing technical support to program staff and fostering effective communication across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an effective grant management tracking system.
  • Implement grant management procedures and foster partnerships with program staff.
  • Ensure timely submission of all reporting and requirements related to grants.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality grant management services to external and internal customers.
  • Oversee the development of training materials for program managers and conduct outreach to grant-funded programs.
  • Build and implement standard procedures for the Grants Management Department.
  • Develop process improvements and document them in writing.
  • Work with other divisions to ensure grant requirements are clearly defined and understood.
  • Conduct Post Award Kick Off coordination meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Network, monitor, and respond to division needs related to grant management services.
  • Facilitate effective communication and problem resolution within the department.
  • Serve on the department leadership team to improve departmental structure and resources.
  • Represent the department in corporate leadership initiatives and performance reporting.
  • Provide internal consulting related to program development and grants management.
  • Facilitate and manage collaborative relationships with Alaska Tribal Health System partners.
  • Complete internal and external reports professionally and timely.
  • Supervise Grants Management staff, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Develop staff skills and training plans, and conduct performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, Technical Communications, or Accounting.
  • Five years of grants management or compliance experience in public or private sectors.
  • Experience with federal/state/foundation grant administration requirements and processes.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a management position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Alaska Tribal Health System and Alaska Native cultures.
  • Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 - Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
  • Experience in submission of grant reports to Federal and State funding agencies.
