About the position

The Interim Technical Accounting / Audit Prep Consultant will support a publicly traded company in preparing for the year-end audit over a 3-6 month project. This role involves working closely with the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to conduct technical accounting research and reporting, with a focus on purchase price accounting and stock compensation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical accounting research and reporting for year-end audit preparation.
• Support employee equity plan setup, including Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
• Provide valuation support for equity programs.
• Support Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) for acquisitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA certification is required.
• 8 years of experience in GAAP accounting, preferably in a senior role.
• Experience with purchase price accounting (ASC 805) and stock compensation (ASC 718).
• Big 4 public accounting experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with E-Trade for employee equity plans.
• Public company accounting experience.
• Experience with large organizations with over $1B in revenue.
