About the position
The Interior Designer and Project Estimator will be responsible for creating innovative design solutions while accurately estimating project costs. This role requires collaboration with clients to understand their design preferences and budget, as well as managing project timelines and budgets to ensure successful execution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences, needs, and budget.
- Develop and present design concepts, including mood boards, sketches, and 3D renderings.
- Select and source materials, furniture, and accessories that align with the design vision and budget.
- Prepare detailed project estimates, including costs for materials, labor, and other expenses.
- Create project timelines and manage budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site visits to measure spaces, assess conditions, and oversee project progress.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of project details, costs, and timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (Desirable).
- Proven experience as an Interior Designer and Estimator.
- Proficient in design software such as ProKitchen, Xactimate, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of materials, furniture, and building codes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
Nice-to-haves
- Xactimate Certification (Preferred)
- 3 years of experience in construction estimating (Preferred)
