About the position

The Interior Design Intern position at SmithGroup offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic design environment. Interns will work alongside integrated architecture and engineering project design teams, utilizing advanced software to contribute to various design assignments while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Work on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
  • Use the latest 2D and 3D software to create architectural drawings, renderings, and design assignments.
  • Document changes to interior drawings as instructed.
  • Consult with manufacturers; research and evaluate materials.
  • Participate in design meetings.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced design professionals.
  • Visit construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.

Requirements

  • Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited interior design program at the time of the internship.
  • Basic knowledge of current FF&E (Furniture, Fixture & Equipment) products and applications.
  • Some experience with Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
