About the position

The Interior Design Project Manager for Cobb County Government is responsible for providing comprehensive interior design services for County-owned buildings and facilities. This role involves developing technical documents for construction and renovations, collaborating with clients to analyze space requirements, and ensuring compliance with building codes and ADA requirements. The position requires a blend of creativity and technical skills to create functional and aesthetically pleasing designs while adhering to budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and create technical documents for constructions and renovations.
• Participate in discussions of proposed design with clients.
• Analyze space and other requirements for renovations; take necessary measurements and photos.
• Create an inventory of existing furniture, equipment, and appliances to determine usability and needs.
• Create designs for proposed renovation or relocation based on client requirements and budgetary considerations.
• Submit designs for review by construction, ADA, maintenance, Information Services, and Energy Analyst.
• Incorporate suggestions into final drawings.
• Create final construction documents including demolition plans, renovation plans, electrical plans, lighting plans, furniture and cabinetry details, and finish plans.
• Observe construction during the renovation process and create as-built drawings for archiving.
• Obtain building permits for construction from City of Marietta or Cobb County Fire Marshal and code enforcement authorities as directed.
• Select colors, materials, and finishes to convey the design concept and meet functional requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field required.
• Three years of experience in interior design planning and implementation.
• Valid Driver's License.
• State of Georgia Interior Designers License - Registered Interior Designer (RID) desired.

• Experience in CAD software.
• Ability to utilize specialized design-related software and large format scanners.
