About the position
This position is for an Interior Design Sales Associate at Living Spaces, a new store opening in Friendswood, Texas. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide exceptional service to in-store guests by utilizing a selling strategy that aligns with the company's Guest Engagement Model, with a strong emphasis on interior design. The associate will engage with customers, understand their design goals, and provide tailored advice and product recommendations to meet their needs. This includes presenting customized room designs and maintaining a thorough knowledge of merchandise lines, product features, and availability. The role also involves processing customer transactions and completing required training in a timely manner, while actively contributing to the store team to achieve revenue targets and ensure a successful store opening.
Responsibilities
- Greet and engage guests using the Living Spaces Guest Engagement Model.
- Determine guests' goals and requirements for their design projects.
- Provide relevant design advice, product knowledge, and recommendations.
- Present customized room designs, including sample fabrics and furniture recommendations.
- Maintain current knowledge of merchandise lines and product features.
- Process customer transactions in the Point of Sale system.
- Complete required training and participate in ongoing learning opportunities.
- Support the store team in delighting guests and achieving revenue targets.
- Ensure the store is 'Grand Opening' ready by completing daily task lists and style guides.
Requirements
- Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) in interior design or equivalent from a community college or four-year college.
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, retail, or furniture store environment.
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs is required; knowledge of design software is a plus.
- Must successfully complete the internal certification program at Living Spaces.
