About the position

The Interior Design Sales Professional at Ethan Allen Global, Inc. is responsible for creating individualized design solutions for customers, whether in the design center, remotely, or in the customer's home. This role involves selling Ethan Allen products and services while achieving sales goals in a flexible, relationship-based selling environment. The position requires strong design skills, effective communication, and the ability to utilize social media for marketing purposes. Design Consultants are compensated based on performance metrics and are expected to meet or exceed sales benchmarks.

Responsibilities

  • Create design solutions that align with customer preferences and budgets.
  • Sell Ethan Allen's products and services.
  • Represent the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions.
  • Make home calls to evaluate customer needs and provide individualized design solutions.
  • Utilize grassroots marketing and social media platforms to grow the business.
  • Educate customers about the complimentary design services offered by Ethan Allen.
  • Stay current on design and color trends to create fashionable solutions.
  • Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional customer service before and after sales.
  • Participate in corporate marketing and training programs as required.
  • Educate customers on available financing options.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the design center's portfolio.
  • Utilize corporate systems and technology for project design and presentations.
  • Enter orders using the retail point of sale system.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly design center environment.
  • Work with leadership to develop and monitor business and marketing plans.
  • Utilize technology to build project volume and client relationships.
  • Enhance personal and company presence on social media.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design-related field with at least one year of practical interior design experience.
  • Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
  • Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of social media and grassroots marketing for business development.
  • Valid driver's license or alternative transportation means during business hours.
  • Intermediate skill in digital floor planning technology; experience with 3D applications is a plus.
  • Experience with interactive technology for design concepts, such as augmented reality and virtual reality.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
