About the position

DLR Group is an integrated design firm with a promise to elevate the human experience through design. This fuels the work we do around the world and inspires our mission to improve the lives of our clients, our communities, and our planet. If this sparks your interest, you're in the right place. DLR Group's Interior Design team has an opening for an Entry-level Interior Designer in Los Angeles. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home. As an Entry-level Interior Designer at DLR Group, you will collaborate on project designs from pre-design and programming to construction administration for various projects of different sizes and complexities. Your role and responsibilities will vary from project-to-project, including developing comprehensive project palettes of materials and finishes, preparing 3D renderings and presentation drawings, and generating interior finish drawings and details. All the while, you will maintain awareness of project scope, schedule, fee, and budget and work collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors, and other team members to deliver projects. The successful candidate will prepare and develop comprehensive project palettes of materials and finishes, create 3D renderings and presentation drawings, as well as interior finish drawings and details. You will work collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors, and other DLR Group team members to deliver projects while maintaining an awareness of project scope, schedule, fee, and budget. You will identify and propose technical solutions to design challenges with creativity, design excellence, and a highly disciplined work ethic. Additionally, you will develop a design acumen that holistically addresses the 3D space; from functionality, alignment with programmatic needs, and how materials, volumes, and performance of the space all come together. You will also develop documentation and detailing skills to bring design ideas that are constructable to life, analyze products, materials, and FF&E that align with our sustainable commitments, and create graphic presentations to communicate design intent. You will gain knowledge of and apply QA/QC and DLR Group practice standards and protocols, learn the value and critical aspects of coordination within our integrated practice in construction administration by attending site walks, CA meetings, and attending project close-outs, and demonstrate a strong willingness to grow and learn while proactively contributing to the success of projects in a meaningful way.
