About the position

The Entry-Level Commercial Interior Designer position at Senior By Design / Curation Ltd is an opportunity for recent graduates to join a boutique interior design firm specializing in high-end senior living and multi-family commercial projects. The role involves assisting in design and planning, collaborating with senior designers, and developing Revit models for various projects. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about design, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a creative and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and planning of senior living and multi-family commercial projects.
• Work closely with senior designers on space planning, FF&E selection, and project documentation.
• Develop Revit models for design proposals and construction documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure designs meet their needs and expectations.
• Prepare and present professional design proposals with Senior Designers to ownership/investors.
• Ensure spaces are functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items.
• Attend construction documentation/design reviews with senior designers, architects, and owner/operators.
• Complete interior finish schedules, furniture plans, and all selections for community buildings.
• Understand SD Schematic Design, CD Construction Design, and DD Design Development phases in commercial design.
• Attend design reviews with Senior Designers for job direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (not Graphic Design).
• Proficiency or educational experience in Revit is a must.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive, can-do attitude with a passion for learning and growing in the field.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and vendors.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in SketchUp is a plus.
• 1 year of experience in Interior Design is preferred.
