About the position

NBBJ Seattle is seeking an Entry Level Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join our award-winning design firm, known for its purpose-driven approach that creates healthy places, strong communities, and a resilient environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different scales, including corporate/commercial, civic and cultural, and healthcare studios. As part of a highly collaborative environment, you will engage with diverse colleagues and leading clients, contributing to innovative design solutions that inspire and create lasting change. In this position, you will participate in high-energy, collaborative teams, actively engaging in ideation and design processes at all levels. Your responsibilities will include providing design and documentation support on projects of varying sizes and complexities, as well as developing and implementing overall design concepts and finish palettes throughout all phases of design. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, team players, and eager to learn and grow within the firm. This role is full-time and requires you to work in the office, allowing for direct collaboration with your team and clients. The position is designed for individuals who are ready to make an impact in the field of interior design and architecture, contributing to projects that enhance the built environment and improve the quality of life for communities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in high-energy, collaborative teams on a wide range of project types.
  • Engage proactively with the team to participate in ideation at all levels.
  • Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design.
  • Create presentation books and materials.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of professional experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • LEED Accreditation or within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills.
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.
  • Ability to lead aspects of work with design direction.
  • Proficiency in Revit with 3D modeling skills essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Rhino, Sketchup.
  • Experience with researching, selecting, and specifying materials and finishes.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Furniture selection experience is beneficial.
  • Corporate and commercial design experience is beneficial.
  • Client presentation skills is beneficial.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range between $67,000 and $74,000 based on skills and experience.
