About the position

The Interior Designer/FF&E Coordinator at Jacobs will lead the furniture procurement process for K-12 programs, transforming school facilities into vibrant learning environments. This role involves coordinating with design management teams, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery and installation of furniture. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders to meet project milestones and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management of the furniture procurement process for K-12 programs.
  • Coordinate with design management teams to organize FF&E plans and schedules.
  • Establish milestones and deadlines for successful FF&E procurement with project management and furniture vendors.
  • Schedule and lead FF&E coordination meetings with principals and school representatives.
  • Assist in developing branding strategies that align with each school's vision and mission.
  • Prepare design briefs that capture the unique character and needs of each project.
  • Attend regular meetings with furniture vendors and project management team members to gather information and update tracking spreadsheets.
  • Organize, track, and communicate confirmation of finalized order choices with the overall team.
  • Ensure purchase orders for all furniture vendors are issued and tracked in the client marketplace system.
  • Partner with project managers and furniture vendors to establish FF&E delivery schedules and supervise deliveries.
  • Review vendor quotes and verify accuracy with the PMO, budget, and finance teams.
  • Assist with coordination of new furniture bid specifications and contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar Interior Designer or FF&E position.
  • Ability to read and understand FF&E plans and specifications, familiarity with furniture industry standards.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and timelines, organizing project details, and communicating critical updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, flexible, efficient, and task-focused in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record with the ability to drive to project sites based on business need.
  • Ability to relocate to Jacksonville, FL area if not currently residing there.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in CAD.
  • Familiarity with education-based furniture manufacturers and products.
  • Space planning sketching skills for test fits of classroom furniture.
  • Ability to interface with the architectural design process to support furniture selection.
