About the position

The Interior Designer (Furniture) at Dufresne Spencer Group, LLC is responsible for creating and maintaining an engaging store environment that enhances product visibility and maximizes sales. This role involves overseeing visual presentations, managing merchandise displays, and ensuring the store's overall cleanliness and organization. The ideal candidate will utilize their interior design skills to develop innovative displays and collaborate with various teams to maintain high standards in the showroom.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all merchandise is displayed according to the corporate merchandising plan.
  • Manage and train staff on operational duties including accessory receiving and promotional execution.
  • Maintain accurate pricing for all merchandise displayed in the store.
  • Keep the store floor plan aligned with AutoCAD designs provided by corporate.
  • Collaborate with Category Business Managers on product transfers and floor planning.
  • Audit inventory forms and input data accurately.
  • Utilize knowledge of color coordination and visual balance to create attractive displays.
  • Partner with management on creative elements including painting and interior design.
  • Ensure the condition of floor merchandise is maintained to showroom quality.
  • Reorder and replace sold merchandise promptly.
  • Organize the store warehouse and maintain cleanliness.
  • Oversee cleaning of store areas including the entrance and restrooms.
  • Communicate effectively within the organization and with superiors.
  • Hire, develop, and manage Floor Support staff.
  • Participate in biannual inventory audits.
  • Complete additional work-related responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Monitor and reinforce visual presentation standards and merchandising directives.
  • Engage in monthly design challenges.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in interior design or business preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in retail home furnishings or interior design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and project management.
  • Strong communication skills and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent time management and attendance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree in Merchandising-Home Furnishings or related field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Leadership skills and effective multi-tasking abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and project planning experience.
