About the position

Ashley HomeStore, the leading Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, is seeking a dedicated Visual Presentation Manager to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI. This full-time position is pivotal in creating and maintaining an engaging store environment that highlights our furniture offerings and maximizes product sales. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall store environment, including the arrangement of displays and vignettes, product receiving, replenishment, rotation, and ensuring store cleanliness. This role is essential in ensuring that our merchandise is presented in a way that attracts customers and enhances their shopping experience. The Visual Presentation Manager will work closely with corporate to implement merchandising plans and ensure that all merchandise is displayed according to these guidelines. This includes managing the operational duties related to accessory receiving, promotional execution, and pricing accuracy. The manager will also maintain the store's floor plan in alignment with AutoCAD designs provided by corporate, ensuring that the layout is both functional and visually appealing. In addition to managing the visual presentation, the role involves collaborating with Category Business Managers to effectively transfer and display orphan products. The manager will utilize their knowledge of color coordination and interior design to create innovative displays that uphold the showroom's high standards. Regular audits of merchandise condition and inventory management will also be part of the responsibilities, ensuring that all products are in showroom quality and that the store warehouse is organized and clutter-free. The Visual Presentation Manager will also play a key role in team development, hiring, and managing Floor Support staff. Participation in inventory audits and ongoing communication of visual presentation standards are crucial aspects of this position. The manager will also engage in monthly design challenges to foster creativity and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all merchandise is on the sales floor and displayed according to the merchandising plan developed by corporate.
  • Manage and train operational duties including accessory receiving, informational POP tagging, and promotional POP execution.
  • Ensure that all merchandise is priced correctly when displayed and make timely changes to pricing as necessary.
  • Maintain store floor plan to match AutoCAD produced by corporate.
  • Partner with Category Business Managers on transferring/flooring orphan product.
  • Audit IOWN form and input data.
  • Develop attractive and innovative displays using an understanding of color coordination and visual balance.
  • Partner with RVPM in all creative elements within the store environment including painting and interior design elements.
  • Maintain the condition of floor merchandise to showroom quality and ensure re-ordering of sold merchandise.
  • Organize and keep clear channels of communication within the organization and with superiors.
  • Hire, develop, and manage Floor Support staff.
  • Participate in Inventory Audit twice a year.
  • Monitor consistency and execution of visual presentation directives, signage, and merchandising standards.
  • Participate in monthly design challenges.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in interior design/business preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in retail home furnishings or interior design.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication proficiency.
  • Ethical conduct and strong time management skills.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential.
