About the position

The Interior Designer (Furniture) at Dufresne Spencer Group, LLC is responsible for creating and maintaining an engaging store environment that highlights furniture and maximizes product sales. This role involves managing visual presentations, ensuring merchandise is displayed according to corporate plans, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the store. The position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance the showroom's aesthetic and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all merchandise is displayed according to the merchandising plan developed by corporate.
  • Manage and train operational duties including accessory receiving and promotional execution.
  • Ensure merchandise is priced correctly and changes are made in a timely manner.
  • Maintain store floor plan to match AutoCAD designs from corporate.
  • Partner with Category Business Managers on product transfers and floor planning.
  • Audit IOWN form and input data accurately.
  • Develop attractive displays using knowledge of color coordination and interior design principles.
  • Collaborate with RVPM on creative elements within the store environment.
  • Maintain the condition of floor merchandise to showroom quality.
  • Re-order and replace sold merchandise from the floor.
  • Organize the store warehouse and keep it clear of clutter.
  • Oversee cleaning of front entrance, restrooms, and backrooms as needed.
  • Communicate effectively within the organization and with superiors.
  • Hire, develop, and manage Floor Support staff.
  • Participate in Inventory Audits twice a year.
  • Monitor consistency of visual presentation directives and merchandising standards.
  • Reinforce and communicate visual presentation standards regularly.
  • Participate in monthly design challenges.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in interior design or business preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in retail home furnishings or interior design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and project management.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in visual merchandising and retail management.
  • Knowledge of current interior design trends and techniques.
