About the position

The Interior Designer - Gaming and Hospitality position at Shive-Hattery Group, Inc. is a full-time role based in St. Louis, Missouri, requiring 5 to 10 years of experience. The designer will be a key member of the design team, contributing to various phases of projects within the Gaming and Hospitality market. This role involves collaboration with architects and other designers, as well as direct engagement with clients and vendors to deliver comprehensive design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the project team from programming/scope definition, design, and documentation through implementation.
  • Collaborate with the project architect and other Interior Designers on all aspects of project delivery.
  • Prepare elements of project schematic/conceptual designs including programmatic space plans, floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, and dimensional sketches.
  • Render conceptual design ideas and prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
  • Prepare working drawing contract documents, plans, details, schedules, and technical specifications using Revit, BSD, Excel, and other related software.
  • Coordinate document requirements with the design team and corresponding plans and drawings.
  • Attend on-site visits and field reviews, providing direction to outside contractors and vendors as necessary.
  • Develop technical/design solutions and assist in design presentation development.
  • Follow project development and production standards and engage in continuous personal improvement and education.
  • Provide field observations on construction job sites.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Gaming or Hospitality projects.
  • Graduate from an accredited Interior Design program with a Bachelor's degree in interior design.
  • NCIDQ Certification or the ability to become certified.
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and present design concepts to the project team, clients, and vendors.
  • Experience using Revit, Enscape, BSD Speclink, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office Suite, and related graphic software programs.
  • Current knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment, including industry standards for selection and procurement.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with BIM modeling and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with construction job site observations.
