Full-time - Mid Level
Baltimore, MD
Furniture and Related Product Manufacturing

About the position

Price Modern is seeking experienced interior designers with GSA experience to join our teams in Baltimore or the DC area. Our designers play a crucial role in providing design and consultative services to both clients and internal sales staff. They are valued members of our team, bringing a wealth of knowledge, aesthetic sensibility, and creative ideas that enhance company performance through innovative workstyles, trends, products, and spatial design. In this role, you will attend client meetings and planning sessions to review project scopes and assess programming needs. You will analyze building plans and site conditions to ensure accurate space representation, conduct field measurements, and inventory existing furniture while performing codes analysis. You will be responsible for developing and presenting space plans and furniture layouts that align with the programming and needs analysis. Additionally, you will select and present color and finish options, ensuring that all project drawings and furniture specifications are accurate and complete. As a designer, you will self-check all project documents, incorporating any changes received from drawing and specification check sets before issuing them to the team or clients. You will assist in obtaining client approvals on final plans and ensure that complete and accurate project documentation is transmitted to the team for order entry and installation. You will also provide working drawings to third-party contractors as needed and review final installations with project managers, updating drawings with 'as-built' conditions for record-keeping. Your role will require you to estimate the time needed to complete project scopes for budgetary purposes and maintain accurate billing through weekly timesheets. Proficiency in AutoCAD, CET Designer, Revit, and Project Spec is essential, along with a working knowledge of codes, ADA compliance, ergonomics, technology integration, LEED, and Well Building standards. Participation in company-led industry events and collaboration with internal departments and external resources will be key components of your responsibilities. You will also be expected to provide timely and complete information to clients and vendors while seeking out training opportunities to support both account and personal growth. Extensive knowledge of product lines, features, applications, and technical capabilities is necessary, as well as a solid understanding of all Price Modern and client roles and processes.
