About the position

Join Gensler Newport Beach as an Interior Designer specializing in Healthcare, where your creativity will shape innovative experiences in the healthcare sector. This role focuses on user-centered design to enhance environments for patients and caregivers, integrating virtual and in-person care delivery. You will lead design strategies, mentor teams, and collaborate across disciplines to redefine healthcare spaces and improve the quality of care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creative efforts on healthcare interiors projects, developing overall design concepts and presentation strategies.
• Mentor and provide creative direction to design teams.
• Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants.
• Collaborate with team members to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach.
• Participate in business development and marketing efforts.
• Select interior finishes, furniture, and equipment.
• Produce space plans, furniture plans, elevations, and design documentation.
• Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives.
• Review drawings, mockups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of design or architecture.
• 7+ years of design leadership in interior design and/or architecture projects, with recent healthcare project experience required.
• NCIDQ certified.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, and other design software.
• Working knowledge of healthcare planning in various clinical settings.
• Portfolio must include healthcare projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification.
