About the position

The Interior Designer for Healthcare at SmithGroup will be responsible for managing projects and participating in job production and construction administration efforts. This role involves preparing and coordinating construction document packages, consulting with manufacturers, and serving as a resource on interior design issues. The designer will also participate in client presentations and visioning sessions, ensuring that projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage projects and participate in job production and construction administration efforts.
  • Assist in preparing, coordinating, and completing construction document packages.
  • Consult with manufacturers, research, and evaluate FF&E materials and products.
  • Serve as a resource on interior design issues to others in the office.
  • Assist in the design work of others to ensure integrated and cohesive design.
  • Participate in presentations and visioning sessions to develop programs for clients.
  • Be responsible for meeting project deadlines and budget constraints.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience with healthcare projects of varying types and complexity.
  • LEED AP preferred; Architectural or Interior Design registration preferred.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD with 3-D modeling capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work involving independent judgment and to act as project coordinator and leader.
  • Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permitting and bidding on projects.
