About the position

The Opportunity: RS&H is currently seeking an interior designer to join our team. This position will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote. As part of the Buildings team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by performing all aspects of predesign, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation tasks related to the interior design scope of a project. You will be responsible for designing a complete project and preparing project documents, specifications, and reports. This includes formulating and solving design challenges with timely and innovative solutions, conducting research to support proposed design solutions, and preparing and presenting project documents, drawings, visual aids, and presentations. Additionally, you will develop project specifications and discipline reports, and perform quality control reviews and field observations of ongoing construction projects. This position may also provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for the project duration. You may also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects. To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture and NCIDQ certification or state registration (as applicable), along with five years of relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited program is strongly preferred. You should have a passion for design and demonstrate knowledge of state and local building codes, life safety codes, and other relevant ordinances. Proficiency in production software and construction documentation is essential, as well as strong communication skills to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
