About the position

As an Interior Designer II at Populous, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative design atmosphere where creativity and technical proficiency are paramount. Populous is renowned for designing and delivering some of the world's most memorable civic, sports, and entertainment buildings, including iconic stadiums and groundbreaking live music venues. This role requires a passionate and engaged designer who can contribute to a diverse range of public assembly building types, such as sports venues, convention centers, E-sports venues, hospitality environments, community buildings, and transportation facilities. In this position, you will be responsible for providing design and documentation across all aspects of the interiors process, utilizing various media formats. You will engage in creative design thinking, spatial and environmental design, branding development, story creation, and graphic design. Strong conceptual design, organizational skills, and technical expertise are essential, as you will manage multiple concurrent projects and interact confidently with clients, leading presentations and collaborative sessions. The ability to quickly build trust and direct large consultant teams is crucial, as is the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for design, with a preference for those with hospitality experience. You will need superior visual, written, and spoken communication skills to express concepts in captivating ways. Attention to detail and comfort in a demanding environment are vital, along with proficiency in design software such as Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Rendering experience and strong sketching skills are also critical, as you will need to create quick sketches to convey ideas effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience in interior design.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Strong sketching and freehand drawing skills.
  • Superior visual, written, and spoken communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a demanding environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Rendering experience, both computer and freehand.
