About the position

The Interior Designer III position at EwingCole involves leading the interior design efforts for healthcare projects, supervising junior designers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality design solutions that meet client expectations. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and a strong background in interior architecture, particularly in healthcare settings. The designer will be responsible for developing conceptual designs, coordinating with other disciplines, and mentoring less experienced designers throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the interior design effort of large and small-scale healthcare projects.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced interior designers.
  • Develop conceptual designs and evolve these concepts into detailed architectural elements.
  • Select finish materials and furnishings appropriate for the project.
  • Prepare furniture budgets and develop presentation materials including 3D renderings.
  • Conduct programming with clients and ensure designs are code compliant.
  • Collaborate with lighting designers to develop lighting concepts.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines to ensure design consistency.
  • Participate in construction administration tasks including submittal responses and site visits.
  • Create design documents and presentation materials for marketing purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • 10+ years of experience in interior design, with a focus on healthcare or similar specialized areas.
  • NCIDQ certification required.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and 3D modeling software (SketchUp or Rhino).
  • Excellent conceptual skills and thorough understanding of interior architecture.
  • Strong presentation skills for client design visioning sessions.
  • Complete knowledge of interior architecture detailing and finish materials.

Nice-to-haves
