About the position

The Interior Designer III position at Perkins Eastman is a full-time role focused on workplace and commercial interiors. The designer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative design solutions, ensuring quality and integrity throughout all project phases. This hybrid role offers opportunities for professional growth and exposure to diverse projects across the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop creative interior design concepts for workplace and commercial interior projects.
  • Participate in all project phases, from conceptual design through construction administration, ensuring design integrity and quality.
  • Produce detailed drawings, presentations, and renderings to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure design solutions are executed accurately and meet client expectations.
  • Assist in selecting materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment that align with the design vision and project requirements.
  • Conduct research and stay current with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in workplace and commercial interiors.
  • Support project documentation, including construction documents, specifications, and schedules.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing design insight and recommendations.
  • Travel as needed to support project installations and site visits across the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in interior design, with a focus on workplace or commercial interiors.
  • Strong design and conceptual thinking skills with a portfolio showcasing innovative and well-executed projects.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and team members.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction methods.
  • LEED accreditation or progress toward licensure (NCIDQ) is a plus.
