About the position

The Interior Designer III position at a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm in Philadelphia offers an exciting opportunity to lead interior design efforts on healthcare projects. This role emphasizes innovative design solutions that meet client needs while reflecting the firm's commitment to quality and service excellence. The designer will be responsible for guiding less experienced designers, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the interior design process for healthcare projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
  • Create and develop conceptual designs, detailing architectural elements, and selecting materials and furnishings.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced designers in executing design tasks.
  • Collaborate with project managers and architectural designers for cohesive design execution.
  • Coordinate design work to produce drawings and construction documents.
  • Develop and implement code-compliant designs adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and present design proposals, including 3D renderings and reports.
  • Lead client presentations and in-house design reviews.
  • Oversee the creation of interior architectural and millwork details and project specifications.
  • Participate in construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews and site visits.
  • Provide design guidance during the construction phase to ensure fidelity to the original design concept.
  • Supervise and mentor junior interior designers in project execution.
  • Assist in creating design documents and presentation materials for marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare fee proposals and participate in project interviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design, particularly in healthcare or related fields.
  • NCIDQ certification or equivalent architectural certification is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or Rhino.
  • Strong conceptual design skills with a thorough understanding of interior architecture and detailing.
  • Experience in client-facing design visioning sessions and presentations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring design excellence and financial viability.
  • Demonstrated experience in delegating tasks and mentoring junior designers.
