About the position

Havenly is seeking experienced Interior Designers to join our team in New York City, where we believe in making space for better living. Our mission is to provide clients with modern, custom, in-person design services that enhance their homes. As a Designer on the Havenly platform, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, both virtually and in-person, to create beautiful spaces that reflect their personal style and needs. This role allows you to leverage our technology and support services, including scheduling, ordering, invoicing, and vendor management, enabling you to focus on delivering exceptional design experiences. In this position, you will collaborate with residential clients in the New York City area through virtual and in-home meetings. Your responsibilities will include understanding client preferences, needs, and budgets, leading the design process, and developing mood boards, design concepts, floor plans, and 3D renderings. You will also source furniture and decor from Havenly's platform, facilitating a seamless shopping experience for clients. Building strong client relationships is essential, as this will drive repeat and referral business, contributing to your success as a designer. We are looking for designers who are passionate about their craft and possess a small business mindset, understanding how to drive projects forward and convert beautiful designs into sales. This freelance contract role offers flexibility and the potential for growth within the Havenly community, as you will be part of a team that values creativity, collaboration, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with residential clients in the New York City area through virtual and in-home meetings to understand their design preferences, needs, and budget.
• Lead the design process with clients, including the development of mood boards, design concepts, floor plans, and 3D renderings.
• Source furniture and decor on Havenly's platform, facilitating a seamless shopping experience for clients.
• Grow deep client relationships to drive repeat and referral business.

Requirements

• A degree in Interior Design from an accredited program or university is preferred.
• 3+ years of working as an interior designer with your own clients in-person and/or virtually.
• An industry-professional presence with confident, knowledgeable, and clear communication style.
• Tech-savviness and comfort using online technologies for creating concept boards, 3D renderings, and presentations.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Canva, with the ability to layer images and use functionalities such as background remover.
• A high degree of passion, drive, and knowledge to achieve the best possible creative results.
• A small business mindset to drive projects forward and convert designs into sales.
• A high level of product knowledge across many vendors, categories, and price points.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with additional design software or tools.
• Previous experience in sales or client management.
