About the position

NBBJ Seattle is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different scales, including corporate/commercial, civic and cultural, and healthcare studios. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated and team players, ready to engage in high-energy, collaborative teams on a wide range of project types. In this position, you will be involved in proactive team engagement, participating in ideation at all levels. You will provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities, developing and implementing overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design. The role is full-time and requires working in the office, allowing for direct collaboration with colleagues and clients. The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $80,000 and $100,000, with actual compensation determined based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in high-energy, collaborative teams on a wide range of project types.
  • Engage proactively with the team to participate in ideation at all levels.
  • Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design.
  • Create presentation books and materials for client presentations.

Requirements

  • 7 - 10 years of professional experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • LEED Accreditation or within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills.
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.
  • Ability to lead aspects of work with design direction.
  • Proficiency in Revit with essential 3D modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Rhino, and Sketchup.
  • Experience with researching, selecting, and specifying materials and finishes.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Furniture selection experience is beneficial.
  • Corporate and commercial design experience is beneficial.
  • Client presentation skills are beneficial.
